As an experiment, I created a yahoo beta account and signed up for newsletters/emails from 300 of the top 500 retailers. The experience was, by and large, extraordinarily educational. Not only could I see what the world’s biggest retailers were doing via email to woo customers, but I could also view newsletter sign up boxes, incentives offered to customers and whether these retailers went for double opt-in or not.Fast forward to this week, I have almost 1000 emails sitting in the box. I’m waiting for a period when I really have the time to savor them (which should arrive roughly around March 9. 2026). And although I vigilantly went double opt-in when it was offered, a handful of single opt-in emails still get sent to spam bin, even though I’ve told yahoo to put them on the safe list. So, what gives? The safe list is an essential email marketing tool. It’s the one piece of evidence that says that the customer not only a) signed up for the email, but also b) wants to read it. It makes that email impervious to the spam button. but what’s the point of a safe list if you won’t honor it?At some point, ESPs and ISPs need re-evaluate militant delivery rules by asking themselves if they’re harming the experience as well as the entire organism.for more information on growing you business with video email .
